This is a very informal interview with a patient
the day he was leaving our clinic.
He did
not want to take any of the conventional therapies (surgery,
chemotherapy, or high radiation dose), because he had some friends "
that die from the therapy rather than from the cancer". "I was more
concern about the quality of my life than the length of it, and I rather
choose to do nothing (no to take any conventional therapy with its
devastating side effects)". Right after taking that decision, a friend
called him and offered some help...

not wanted to go through the "very rough time my mother went with
chemotherapy and radiation", "I was looking for a low dose radiation
treatment, when I found Valley Cancer Institute..." "It was amazing
to see the cancer tumors disappear as the treatment progresses..."
Last week I literally met this gentleman the day
he was leaving Valley Cancer institute, a patient who is a singer and
was diagnosed with throat and base of tongue cancer. I asked him to have
an interview with him and he agreed to do it right on the spot!
He said: "I was in shock when I was told my scans
were clear and I can go home!"
The primary doctors in prestigious University
institutions recommended him the standard procedures for his case:
radiation followed by a total neck dissection; he did not want to loose
his ability to sing and less to talk...
"I'm a musician; I played in bands since I was 13;
and I wanted to keep singing...". The gentle heat treatment of
Hyperthermia, plus a low dose of radiation allowed Steve to keep singing
and performing on gigs, even during treatment!
"Hyperthermia is a very relaxed treatment...; it was
a worm feeling on my neck...; about 45 minutes later somebody woke me
up!"

When I saw her, I though she left our clinic no more than a year ago, by
I was up for a big surprises, because she finished her Hyperthermia 3
years ago! She said: "the diagnosing doctors gave me the standard
care option of treatment: radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery on top of
that... which I did not liked..."
After a thorough research in the internet, he
chose Hyperthermia because "the cutting, poisoning and burning did not
make sense to me...". He felt so good after his treatment (which does
not happen with standard cancer care-treatments) that he drove 2700
miles back home by him self!
"I did not want surgery, or chemotherapy, or
radiation...", "(being diagnosed with cancer) it's not a death
sentence". Our radiation therapist, Sylvia, told Larry: "we've done a
lot worse than this! just hang in there, I will take care of this. This
is my job!" Larry came to visit us after about 7 months he finished his
neck cancer treatment with Hyperthermia and low dose of radiation. He
also said: "I should be an statistic on cancer, but I am a survivor,
thanks to the hyperthermia treatment!"
