| Hyperthermia, as we use it as a cancer treatment
therapy, is the method of elevating the body's temperature to about 42.5
ºC, Celsius degrees, or about 108 ºF. Hyperthermia is administered
locally or in a
whole body fashion.
Since only local hyperthermia is FDA approved
in the US, we are going to talk about this first modality of cancer
treatment therapy.
Local Hyperthermia then,
is a cancer treatment therapy that worms up a local tumor, like breast
cancer tumor, prostate, or head and neck, to show some examples, to
about 42.5 ºC, and keeps the tumor at about that temperature for 45 to
60 minutes.
Hyperthermia as a cancer
treatment therapy, is many times confused with "malignant hyperthermia",
