    The following picture shows the Hyperthermia treatment set up, using a microwave machine [ Celsion Corporation (former Cheung Laboratories), System 100 ], on the Inflammatory Breast Cancer (ibc), Case II patient.

Picture of the Hyperthermia Microwave Machine used for Cancer Treatment. The principle behind this electronic equipment, is the same as the microwave oven. The main difference is just the frequency of operation (and that we do not cook the patients!). In this machine, the frequency is about 915MHz. Electromagnetics waves produce electric current in tissues containing water. Body tissue contains approximatelly 85% of water. In time, those electric currents raise tissue temperature to about 42.5ºC (108.5ºF).

    The Hyperthermia machine uses microwave energy (915 MHz) to heat the treated area, and keep the temperature at about 42.5ºC (108.5ºF).
